Join Air Alliance Houston, Our Afrikan Family, LINK Houston, Stop TxDOT I-45, & Texas Housers for a drop-in I-45 Community Education Fair on Saturday May 6, 2023 from 12-4pm at Finnigan Park Community Center. The Educational Fair will feature informational stations on each of the planned segments of I-45, information for affected renters and homeowners, and general information on the project and advocacy around it. At 2pm, there will be a screening of the celebrated documentary “Ramps to Nowhere,” which tells the story of how a broad-based coalition of communities in Seattle, including the Black Panthers and environmentalists groups, came together and stopped a majority of freeways going through their city in the 1960s and 70s. 

The event will offer free lunch to all attendees, as well as childcare for those who need it. This will be the first of several I-45 Community Education Fairs, traveling between the affected neighborhoods of the I-45 Expansion.
