Culinary Institute Lenôtre will be demolished. Founded in 1998, culinary school and restaurant offers degree programs, certificates, non-degree options. It has 400 students, with a 95% employment rate for graduates. One of top 22 culinary schools in nation, many Booker T. Washington High School students attend.
In addition, John G. Osborne Elementary will be 1200 feet away from the expanded freeway.

Urban Heat Island
Urban heat island (UHI) is a health concern. Increasing the percentage of impervious surface is linked to an increase in surface temperature.
The extent of tree canopy in an area can have a direct effect on temperatures and health. Higher levels of tree canopy coverage can help curb urban heat island effects by lowering temperatures. Not only is extreme heat the primary weather-related cause of death in the U.S. according to 2018 National Weather Service Office estimates but hot temperatures also create the weather conditions necessary to produce ground-level ozone.

“There is potential for some negative impacts to community cohesion in the Northside/Northline super neighborhood due to a loss of some services. No mitigation measures specifically for community cohesion impacts are proposed, but numerous direct mitigation measures are proposed for Northside/Northline.”
